Use Vroma to record, Studio Track to revisit the route, and Chrova to find photos and videos. If you want to build a tool for trimming or making films, read the problems and designs from Cut/Edit.

From the road to your Mac

Connect the pieces
of your day.

Record your route and Marks (times and comments for moments to remember) in Vroma while filming with your own camera. At home, follow the map and comments to revisit the day. Browse your photos and videos in Chrova using readable capture times and GPX.

Want shorter scenes? Explore the Cut problems and design. Want to make a film? Explore the Edit problems and design. Read the problems I encountered, my solutions and their reasons. When useful, give AI the page URL or material and design conditions to build your own tool. Keep originals and check tools with copies.

Record
Vroma

Start recording before you go.

GPX + .marks.csv

Choose an export folder in Vroma and allow location access “Always.” Mark places you want to revisit while recording.

Vroma

After recording, copy the GPX and marker CSV to your Mac—for example, trip.gpx and trip.marks.csv. Keep matching files in the same folder for marker loading.

Route
Vroma Studio Track

Review and edit the route.

GPX

Open the GPX folder on your Mac and inspect the route. Add, move or remove points when needed.

Vroma Studio Track

You can skip this step if you only want to view photos or trim footage. Review start and end locations before sharing a route.

Photos/video
Chrova

Find your photos by place.

GPX + photos & videos

Create a Chrova catalog and register your media folders. Register and scan the GPX folder, then select a recording.

Chrova

Filter photos by the route’s time range. Preview and select candidates before applying locations to media without GPS. Locations are saved in the catalog; originals remain unchanged.

Trim
Vroma Cut

Turn markers into clips.

GPX + .marks.csv + footage

Read the problems, solutions and reasons from Cut. When you want your own tool, give AI the page URL or material, design conditions and instructions. Add how it can read copies of your videos, GPX and Mark file, the Marks or ranges to keep, and your camera, formats and working environment. Ask it to design and implement your personal tool.

Vroma Cut

In my existing Cut implementation, correct camera clock differences, adjust the range and export supported HEVC/AAC footage without re-encoding. These are its conditions; check input formats separately for your own tool. You can also add markers directly in a video without GPX.

Map video
Vroma Studio

Make a video of the journey.

GPX → map video

For an animated map route, open your GPX in Vroma Studio. Set your own Mapbox public token and export.

Vroma Studio

This is a separate workflow from trimming camera footage. Use it as a route overview alongside a film. Map imagery costs depend on your Mapbox plan and usage.

Your files. Your workflow.

Transfer GPX and marker CSV files between apps; there is no automatic app-to-app sync. Check and correct recording-time differences before applying photo locations or selecting video clips.

Choose an app

Begin with one route and one Mark.

Follow the route and comments on your Mac to revisit the trip. Organize photos in Chrova or make a map video in Studio. The guide explains opening records and reviewing routes in the publicly released Studio Track and Studio apps.
