Chrova Terms of Service
The Japanese version of this document is the authoritative version. The English version is provided for reference purposes only. In case of any discrepancy, the Japanese version shall prevail.
1. Service Overview
Chrova (the "App") is a macOS application designed for cataloging and managing photo and video files. The App primarily operates locally on the user's Mac, and catalog data is stored on the user's device. When in-app purchases (tips) and iCloud sync are enabled, payment processing and tip badge synchronization are handled through Apple's services.
2. License Grant
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2.1 Grant of License
The developer (Makoto Tsuyuki) grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to use the App, subject to compliance with these Terms of Service.
2.2 Restrictions
You may not:
- Decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App
- Redistribute, sell, rent, or lease the App
- Modify or create derivative works of the App
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
3. Data Handling
3.1 Local Storage
The App stores all catalog data locally on your Mac. Catalog files (.chrova extension) are saved in locations you specify.
3.2 iCloud Sync (Tip Badge Information)
If iCloud is enabled in your environment, the App may synchronize tip badge information (purchased type, purchase date, quantity, and transaction identifier) via iCloud Key-Value Store. The developer cannot access this synced data.
3.3 Data Ownership
All data managed by the App (photos, videos, metadata, catalog information) belongs to you. The developer does not access or collect your data.
3.4 Backup
You are responsible for backing up your catalog data and original photo/video files.
4. In-App Purchases (Tip Feature)
4.1 Nature of Tips
The App offers optional tips to support the developer. Tips are provided as consumable items, and you can purchase the same tip type multiple times. Badges are added based on the number of purchases.
4.2 Restore and Sync
Consumable items are generally not eligible for standard App Store "Restore Purchases" behavior. Therefore, re-granting the same purchase from Apple's purchase history is not guaranteed. However, when iCloud sync is enabled, the App may synchronize tip badge information across devices. This is display-data synchronization and does not affect Apple's billing or refund decisions.
4.3 Refunds
Tips are provided as digital items to support the developer and do not promise additional features or special benefits. Refund requests for in-app purchases are subject to Apple's refund policy. Refund decisions are made by Apple and the developer has no control over them.
4.4 Price Changes
The developer reserves the right to change tip prices without notice.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
5.1 No Warranty
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. The developer does not warrant that:
- The App will meet your requirements
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
- Results obtained from using the App will be accurate or reliable
5.2 Limitation of Liability
Except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence by the developer, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the App.
- Loss or corruption of data
- Loss of profits
- Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
6. Updates and Support
6.1 Updates
The developer is not obligated to provide updates to the App. When updates are provided, these Terms of Service apply.
6.2 Support
The developer is not obligated to provide support for the App. Any support provided will be on a best-effort basis.
7. Changes to Terms
The developer reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Yokohama District Court as the court of first instance.
